The average import price for silicon; containing by weight not less than 99.99% of silica stood at $2,909 per ton in June 2022, remaining relatively unchanged against the previous month. Over the period under review, the import price showed a noticeable expansion. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in April 2022 when the average import price increased by 37% month-to-month. As a result, import price attained the peak level of $3,287 per ton. From May 2022 to June 2022, the average import prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.
As there is only one major supplying country, the average price level is determined by prices for China.
From November 2021 to June 2022, the rate of growth in terms of prices for China amounted to +2.9% per month.
