In 2022, the average smoked fish, incl. fillets export price amounted to $5,128 per ton, which is down by -1.8% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price, however, showed moderate growth. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2015 when the average export price increased by 70%. Over the period under review, the average export prices reached the peak figure at $7,788 per ton in 2016; however, from 2017 to 2022, the export prices failed to regain momentum.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major foreign markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was the United States ($31,900 per ton), while the average price for exports to France ($1,000 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Central African Republic (+32.4%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
