In March 2022, the average smoked fish, incl. fillets export price amounted to $7,882 per ton, almost unchanged from the previous month. Over the last twelve-month period, it increased at an average monthly rate of +2.5%. The growth pace was the most rapid in February 2022 an increase of 24% against the previous month. The export price peaked at $8,687 per ton in November 2021; however, from December 2021 to March 2022, the export prices failed to regain momentum.
Average prices varied noticeably for the major external markets. In March 2022, the country with the highest price was Malaysia ($8,541 per ton), while the average price for exports to South Korea ($7,314 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From March 2021 to March 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Japan (+3.0%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
