In 2022, the average smoked fish, incl. fillets export price amounted to $10,756 per ton, falling by -4.9% against the previous year. Overall, export price indicated a moderate increase from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +2.8% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, smoked fish, incl. fillets export price decreased by -20.5% against 2020 indices. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2016 when the average export price increased by 28% against the previous year. The export price peaked at $13,524 per ton in 2020; however, from 2021 to 2022, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Japan ($17,301 per ton), while the average price for exports to the UK ($6,346 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Canada (+9.5%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2022, the average smoked fish, incl. fillets import price amounted to $10,310 per ton, waning by -16% against the previous year. Overall, the import price, however, enjoyed strong growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2016 an increase of 221%. The import price peaked at $12,660 per ton in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2022, import prices failed to regain momentum.
Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Singapore ($19,207 per ton), while the price for Japan ($6,984 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Pakistan (+47.3%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2022, after two years of decline, there was significant growth in overseas shipments of smoked fish, incl. fillets, when their volume increased by 97% to 1K tons.
