In September 2023, the average export price for soya beans; other than seed, whether or not brokens amounted to $516 per ton, rising by 3.2% against the previous month. In general, the export price, however, continues to indicate a slight descent. The export price peaked at $561 per ton in February 2023; however, from March 2023 to September 2023, the export prices failed to regain momentum.

Average prices varied noticeably for the major external markets. In September 2023, the highest price was recorded for prices to Thailand ($530 per ton) and Taiwan (Chinese) ($523 per ton), while the average price for exports to Argentina ($482 per ton) and Vietnam ($499 per ton) were amongst the lowest.

From February 2023 to September 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to China (-1.0%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced a decline.

In 2022, the average import price for soya beans; other than seed, whether or not brokens amounted to $483 per ton, picking up by 2.2% against the previous year. Over the period under review, average import prices reached the peak figure at $573 per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, import prices failed to regain momentum.
