Price for Soya Beans; Other than Seed, Whether or Not Broken in the United States (FOB) - 2023

The average export price for soya beans; other than seed, whether or not brokens stood at $570 per ton in September 2023, shrinking by -3.5% against the previous month. Overall, the export price continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in February 2023 when the average export price increased by 2.1% m-o-m. As a result, the export price reached the peak level of $623 per ton. From March 2023 to September 2023, the the average export prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.

Average prices varied noticeably for the major foreign markets. In September 2023, the highest price was recorded for prices to Taiwan (Chinese) ($639 per ton) and Indonesia ($614 per ton), while the average price for exports to the UK ($516 per ton) and Egypt ($549 per ton) were amongst the lowest.

From December 2022 to September 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Taiwan (Chinese) (+0.6%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced mixed trend patterns.

The average import price for soya beans; other than seed, whether or not brokens stood at $733 per ton in September 2023, growing by 12% against the previous month. Overall, the import price, however, saw a perceptible shrinkage. The import price peaked at $1,049 per ton in March 2023; however, from April 2023 to September 2023, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was Canada ($1,154 per ton), while the price for Ghana ($653 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
