Price for Soya Beans; Seed, Whether or Not Broken in Serbia (FOB) - 2022

The average export price for soya beans; seed, whether or not brokens stood at $1,236 per ton in 2022, surging by 54% against the previous year. In general, export price indicated a moderate expansion from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +4.1% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2013 when the average export price increased by 73% against the previous year. As a result, the export price reached the peak level of $1,421 per ton. From 2014 to 2022, the average export prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.

Average prices varied noticeably for the major export markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the highest price was recorded for prices to Romania ($1,305 per ton) and Italy ($1,294 per ton), while the average price for exports to Croatia ($1,091 per ton) and Russia ($1,169 per ton) were amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Croatia (+5.5%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

The average import price for soya beans; seed, whether or not brokens stood at $1,208 per ton in 2022, with an increase of 16% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price, however, showed a deep contraction. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 when the average import price increased by 65% against the previous year. Over the period under review, average import prices attained the maximum at $2,360 per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, import prices remained at a lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Croatia ($1,219 per ton), while the price for Italy ($722 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Italy (-4.0%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced a decline.

Exports of Soya Beans; Seed, Whether or Not Broken in Serbia

In 2022, approx. 3.2K tons of soya beans; seed, whether or not brokens were exported from Serbia; with a decrease of -44.7% compared with 2021. In general, exports, however, recorded a mild increase. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 when exports increased by 93% against the previous year. As a result, the exports reached the peak of 5.8K tons, and then dropped notably in the following year.

In value terms, exports of soya beans; seed, whether or not brokens reduced to $4M in 2022. Over the period under review, total exports indicated resilient growth from 2019 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +13.2% over the last three-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, exports increased by +48.2% against 2020 indices. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 with an increase of 74% against the previous year. As a result, the exports attained the peak of $4.6M, and then contracted in the following year.
