The average import price for spices; cardamoms, neither crushed nor ground stood at $16,850 per ton in 2022, growing by 1.9% against the previous year. In general, the import price saw prominent growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 an increase of 88%. Over the period under review, average import prices hit record highs in 2022 and is expected to retain growth in the near future.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was India ($24,936 per ton), while the price for Guatemala ($14,746 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by India (+36.5%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2022, approx. 138 tons of spices; cardamoms, neither crushed nor ground were imported into Libya; declining by -32% against the year before.
