In December 2023, the average import price for spices; cinnamon and cinnamon-tree flowers, crushed or ground amounted to $2,665 per ton, with a decrease of -43.2% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the import price, however, saw notable growth. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in January 2023 when the average import price increased by 90% m-o-m. The import price peaked at $4,786 per ton in October 2023; however, from November 2023 to December 2023, import prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In December 2023, the country with the highest price was Spain ($5,600 per ton), while the price for India ($1,800 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From December 2022 to December 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Vietnam (+2.3%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

The average export price for spices; cinnamon and cinnamon-tree flowers, crushed or ground stood at $11,695 per ton in 2022, with an increase of 47% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price posted a buoyant increase. As a result, the export price attained the peak level and is likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Georgia ($14,836 per ton), while the average price for exports to Belarus ($4,333 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Georgia (+15.5%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
