The average export price for spices; cinnamon (cinnamomum zeylanicum blume), neither crushed nor ground stood at $5,690 per ton in March 2022, which is down by -8.2% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the export price showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in September 2021 when the average export price increased by 14% m-o-m. Over the period under review, the average export prices reached the maximum at $6,826 per ton in November 2021; however, from December 2021 to March 2022, the export prices remained at a lower figure.
Average prices varied somewhat for the major export markets. In March 2022, the highest price was recorded for prices to Germany ($7,051 per ton) and Thailand ($6,309 per ton), while the average price for exports to the Dominican Republic ($5,080 per ton) and Vietnam ($5,190 per ton) were amongst the lowest.
From March 2021 to March 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to the Dominican Republic (+2.5%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Vietnam ($3,602 per ton), while the price for Sri Lanka ($1,937 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Vietnam (+4.8%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced a decline.
