In 2022, the average import price for spices; cloves (whole fruit, cloves and stems) amounted to $9,444 per ton, reducing by -4.8% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price, however, recorded a strong increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 an increase of 10%. As a result, import price attained the peak level of $9,924 per ton, and then reduced slightly in the following year.
