For the fourth consecutive year, Uganda recorded growth in shipments abroad of spices; mixtures of 2 or more products of the same heading, which increased by 23% to 485 tons in 2022. In general, total exports indicated significant growth from 2019 to 2022: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +23.5% over the last three years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, exports increased by +88.1% against 2019 indices. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2020 when exports increased by 36%. The exports peaked in 2022 and are likely to see gradual growth in years to come.

Over the period under review, exports continue to indicate significant growth. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 when exports increased by 78%.
