Price for Spices; Nutmeg, Neither Crushed Nor Ground in Cameroon (CIF) - 2022

The average import price for spices; nutmeg, neither crushed nor ground stood at $1,945 per ton in 2022, with an increase of 9.7% against the previous year. Overall, the import price, however, showed a noticeable slump. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2019 when the average import price increased by 137% against the previous year. The import price peaked at $3,273 per ton in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2022, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was India ($20,250 per ton), while the price for the United Arab Emirates ($925 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by India (+30.4%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

Imports of Spices; Nutmeg, Neither Crushed Nor Ground in Cameroon

After three years of growth, supplies from abroad of spices; nutmeg, neither crushed nor ground decreased by -31.3% to 724 kg in 2022. In general, imports, however, posted a significant expansion. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 when imports increased by 163%. As a result, imports reached the peak of 1.1 tons, and then dropped significantly in the following year.

In value terms, imports of spices; nutmeg, neither crushed nor ground dropped significantly to $1.4K in 2022. Overall, imports, however, continue to indicate a significant increase. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 when imports increased by 98%. As a result, imports attained the peak of $1.9K, and then dropped significantly in the following year.
