In October 2023, the average import price for stainless steel bars and rods, angles, shapes and sectionses amounted to $4,220 per ton, approximately equating the previous month. Over the period under review, the import price, however, recorded a mild downturn. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in August 2023 an increase of 21% month-to-month. The import price peaked at $5,910 per ton in February 2023; however, from March 2023 to October 2023, import prices remained at a lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was Sweden ($9,356 per ton), while the price for India ($3,178 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From October 2022 to October 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Poland (+1.0%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2022, the average export price for stainless steel bars and rods, angles, shapes and sectionses amounted to $4,413 per ton, growing by 23% against the previous year. Over the period from 2012 to 2022, it increased at an average annual rate of +1.4%. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2018 an increase of 45%. The export price peaked at $4,557 per ton in 2020; however, from 2021 to 2022, the export prices remained at a lower figure.
