The average export price for stainless steel bars and rods, angles, shapes and sectionses stood at $5,892 per ton in October 2023, picking up by 4.8% against the previous month. Over the period from October 2022 to October 2023, it increased at an average monthly rate of +1.4%. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in January 2023 an increase of 23% month-to-month. Over the period under review, the average export prices hit record highs at $6,290 per ton in April 2023; however, from May 2023 to October 2023, the export prices failed to regain momentum.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination: the country with the highest price was Finland ($8,165 per ton), while the average price for exports to Canada ($2,441 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From October 2022 to October 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to the United States (+3.3%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

As a result, import price attained the peak level of $5,289 per ton. From January 2023 to October 2023, the average import prices failed to regain momentum.
