The average export price for stainless steel bars and rods, angles, shapes and sectionses stood at $5,145 per ton in 2022, jumping by 59% against the previous year. Overall, the export price posted a tangible expansion. As a result, the export price attained the peak level and is likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
Average prices varied somewhat for the major foreign markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the highest price was recorded for prices to Italy ($5,638 per ton) and the United States ($5,601 per ton), while the average price for exports to the Czech Republic ($4,085 per ton) and Russia ($4,359 per ton) were amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Italy (+4.6%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

In October 2023, the average import price for stainless steel bars and rods, angles, shapes and sectionses amounted to $3,234 per ton, approximately reflecting the previous month. Over the period under review, the import price showed a perceptible decline. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in July 2023 when the average import price increased by 36% m-o-m. The import price peaked at $4,657 per ton in March 2023; however, from April 2023 to October 2023, import prices failed to regain momentum.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was Slovenia ($6,214 per ton), while the price for China ($2,437 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From November 2022 to October 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Italy (+1.3%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced mixed trend patterns.

Exports of stainless steel bars and rods, angles, shapes and sectionses from Ukraine reduced remarkably to 8K tons in 2022, shrinking by -78.9% on 2021. In general, exports recorded a sharp decline.
