In August 2023, the average export price for stainless steel; flat-rolled products of width less than 600mms amounted to $4,194 per ton, with a decrease of -11.7% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the export price saw a mild contraction. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in February 2023 an increase of 7.1% against the previous month. The export price peaked at $5,197 per ton in May 2023; however, from June 2023 to August 2023, the export prices remained at a lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination: the country with the highest price was the UK ($5,827 per ton), while the average price for exports to Turkey ($2,527 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From December 2022 to August 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Denmark (+2.5%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Over the last eight-month period, it increased at an average monthly rate of +1.3%. As a result, import price attained the peak level and is likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was the United States ($22,443 per ton), while the price for South Korea ($4,330 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From December 2022 to August 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by China (+3.2%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
