In March 2024, the average export price for stainless steel, flat-rolled, width less than 600mm, cold-rolleds amounted to $4,590 per ton, rising by 12% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the export price, however, recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in December 2023 when the average export price increased by 15% against the previous month. The export price peaked at $5,925 per ton in April 2023; however, from May 2023 to March 2024, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
As there is only one major export destination, the average price level is determined by prices for China.
From March 2023 to March 2024, the rate of growth in terms of prices for China amounted to -0.9% per month.

In March 2024, the average import price for stainless steel, flat-rolled, width less than 600mm, cold-rolleds amounted to $4,530 per ton, shrinking by -8.2% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the import price saw a deep downturn. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in February 2024 an increase of 36% month-to-month. The import price peaked at $8,809 per ton in March 2023; however, from April 2023 to March 2024, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was the United States ($54,753 per ton), while the price for Taiwan (Chinese) ($2,303 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From March 2023 to March 2024, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by the United States (+11.3%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced mixed trend patterns.
