In May 2024, the average import price for stainless steel, flat-rolled, width less than 600mm, cold-rolleds amounted to $5,441 per ton, shrinking by -30.9% against the previous month. Overall, the import price continues to indicate a slight decline. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in December 2023 an increase of 76% m-o-m. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $9,756 per ton. From January 2024 to May 2024, the average import prices remained at a lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was Germany ($7,002 per ton), while the price for China ($3,015 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
