In April 2024, the average export price for stainless steel, flat-rolled, width less than 600mm, cold-rolleds amounted to $2,809 per ton, reducing by -1.8% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the export price continues to indicate a mild contraction. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in July 2023 when the average export price increased by 7.4% month-to-month. The export price peaked at $3,565 per ton in May 2023; however, from June 2023 to April 2024, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major external markets. In April 2024, the country with the highest price was the United States ($6,259 per ton), while the average price for exports to Egypt ($861 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From April 2023 to April 2024, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Turkey (+3.0%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced mixed trend patterns.

The average import price for stainless steel, flat-rolled, width less than 600mm, cold-rolleds stood at $3,523 per ton in 2022, surging by 23% against the previous year. Over the period from 2012 to 2022, it increased at an average annual rate of +1.6%. As a result, import price attained the peak level and is likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Vietnam ($5,525 per ton), while the price for Poland ($2,435 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Vietnam (+6.4%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
