In February 2024, the average export price for stamps; stamp-impressed paper; cheque forms; banknotes, stock, share or bond certificates and the like amounted to $54,125 per ton, with an increase of 226% against the previous month. In general, the export price, however, showed a deep slump. Over the period under review, the average export prices attained the peak figure at $183K per ton in February 2023; however, from March 2023 to February 2024, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices for the major external markets. In February 2024, the country with the highest price was Azerbaijan ($53,527 per ton), while the average price for exports to Kosovo ($27,927 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From February 2023 to February 2024, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Kosovo (+0.5%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2022, the average import price for stamps; stamp-impressed paper; cheque forms; banknotes, stock, share or bond certificates and the like amounted to $39,216 per ton, rising by 646% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price, however, showed a noticeable curtailment. Over the period under review, average import prices reached the peak figure at $88,751 per ton in 2017; however, from 2018 to 2022, import prices failed to regain momentum.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Russia ($54,631 per ton), while the price for Malta ($10,004 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Switzerland (+7.6%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced a decline.
