In 2022, the average import price for stamps; stamp-impressed paper; cheque forms; banknotes, stock, share or bond certificates and the like amounted to $13,812 per ton, picking up by 14% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price, however, continues to indicate a noticeable decline. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2020 an increase of 42% against the previous year. The import price peaked at $20,541 per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, import prices failed to regain momentum.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Switzerland ($33,283 per ton), while the price for the Netherlands ($6,200 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Switzerland (+6.9%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

Over the period under review, the export price continues to indicate a pronounced slump. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in December 2022 an increase of 85% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the average export prices attained the maximum at $138K per ton in May 2023, and then fell remarkably in the following month.

Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination: the country with the highest price was Switzerland ($240K per ton), while the average price for exports to France ($11,177 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From June 2022 to June 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Congo (+31.9%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
