The average import price for steel, alloy; bars and rods, hot-rolled, in irregularly wound coilses stood at $751 per ton in September 2023, approximately reflecting the previous month. In general, the import price showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in March 2023 an increase of 17% against the previous month. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $917 per ton. From April 2023 to September 2023, the average import prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In September 2023, the country with the highest price was Japan ($1,461 per ton), while the price for the United Arab Emirates ($568 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From February 2023 to September 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Vietnam (+2.3%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
