In general, import price indicated a noticeable increase from February 2021 to February 2022: its price increased at an average monthly rate of +4.8% over the last twelve months. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on February 2022 figures, import price for steel, alloy increased by +87.2% against March 2021 indices. The growth pace was the most rapid in July 2021 when the average import price increased by 20% against the previous month. The import price peaked at $3,250 per ton in January 2022, and then contracted in the following month.
