In January 2024, the average export price for steel, alloy amounted to $4,006 per ton, picking up by 3.4% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the export price, however, showed a mild setback. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in December 2023 when the average export price increased by 12% month-to-month. Over the period under review, the average export prices hit record highs at $4,493 per ton in January 2023; however, from February 2023 to January 2024, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination: the country with the highest price was the United States ($4,185 per ton), while the average price for exports to Saint Kitts and Nevis stood at $1,396 per ton.

From January 2023 to January 2024, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to China (+10.9%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced a decline.
