The average import price for steel alloy wire of materials other than silico-manganese steels stood at $1,986 per ton in January 2024, picking up by 4.4% against the previous month. In general, the import price, however, saw a slight decline. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in August 2023 an increase of 7.2% m-o-m. The import price peaked at $2,219 per ton in March 2023; however, from April 2023 to January 2024, import prices failed to regain momentum.

Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was Indonesia ($3,424 per ton), while the price for China ($1,091 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
