The average import price for steel, stainless stood at $6,864 per ton in November 2023, rising by 13% against the previous month. Overall, the import price enjoyed a temperate increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in December 2022 an increase of 159% m-o-m. The import price peaked at $15,281 per ton in August 2023; however, from September 2023 to November 2023, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In November 2023, the country with the highest price was Belgium ($12,371 per ton), while the price for Spain ($3,491 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From November 2022 to November 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by France (+7.6%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
