The average import price for steel, stainless; cold-drawn or cold-rolled, tubes and pipes of circular cross-sectia stood at $17,111 per ton in August 2023, standing approximately at the previous month. Over the last eight-month period, it increased at an average monthly rate of +2.0%. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in February 2023 when the average import price increased by 26% m-o-m. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $19,103 per ton. From March 2023 to August 2023, the average import prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was Switzerland ($45,477 per ton), while the price for India ($8,392 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From December 2022 to August 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Spain (+23.7%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

There were significant differences in the average prices for the major external markets. In August 2023, the country with the highest price was Switzerland ($49,162 per ton), while the average price for exports to Mexico ($21,727 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From December 2022 to August 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to the Netherlands (+3.1%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
