In August 2023, the average import price for steel, stainless; cold-drawn or cold-rolled, tubes and pipes of circular cross-sectia amounted to $8,796 per ton, which is down by -79.9% against the previous month. In general, the import price, however, recorded a resilient expansion. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in February 2023 when the average import price increased by 549% against the previous month. The import price peaked at $43,758 per ton in July 2023, and then shrank sharply in the following month.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was Japan ($13,885 per ton), while the price for China ($7,044 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From December 2022 to August 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Slovakia (+2.7%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced mixed trend patterns.
