The average export price for steel, stainless; (excluding cold-drawn or cold-rolled), tubes and pipes of circular cross-sectia stood at $8,091 per ton in November 2023, surging by 2.3% against the previous month. Overall, the export price, however, showed a mild reduction. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in March 2023 when the average export price increased by 6.9% m-o-m. The export price peaked at $9,704 per ton in July 2023; however, from August 2023 to November 2023, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Average prices varied somewhat for the major external markets. In November 2023, the highest price was recorded for prices to France ($9,080 per ton) and the Czech Republic ($9,037 per ton), while the average price for exports to the Netherlands ($6,821 per ton) and Poland ($7,279 per ton) were amongst the lowest.
From December 2022 to November 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to the Czech Republic (+2.3%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2022, the average import price for steel, stainless; (excluding cold-drawn or cold-rolled), tubes and pipes of circular cross-sectia amounted to $12,151 per ton, picking up by 61% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price continues to indicate a prominent increase. The import price peaked at $14,974 per ton in 2017; however, from 2018 to 2022, import prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Germany ($18,214 per ton), while the price for China ($5,459 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by China (+3.2%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
