In 2022, the average export price for steel, stainless; flat-rolled, width less than 600mm, nes in heading no 7220s amounted to $3,645 per ton, increasing by 3.9% against the previous year. Over the period from 2012 to 2022, it increased at an average annual rate of +2.5%. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2018 an increase of 24%. Over the period under review, the average export prices hit record highs in 2022 and is likely to continue growth in the near future.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major foreign markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was the United States ($6,732 per ton), while the average price for exports to Bangladesh ($1,995 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
