Price for Styrene Polymers; Waste, Parings and Scrap in Japan (FOB) - 2023
In November 2023, the average export price for styrene polymers; waste, parings and scraps amounted to $444 per ton, shrinking by -5.1% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the export price continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in January 2023 an increase of 21% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the average export prices reached the peak figure at $497 per ton in February 2023; however, from March 2023 to November 2023, the export prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major export markets. In November 2023, the country with the highest price was Spain ($796 per ton), while the average price for exports to the Philippines ($378 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From November 2022 to November 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Malaysia (+0.2%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced a decline.
