In September 2022, the average import price for sugar confectionery; (excluding chewing gum, including white chocolate), not containing cocoa amounted to $9,244 per ton, increasing by 6.9% against the previous month. Overall, import price indicated tangible growth from September 2021 to September 2022: its price increased at an average monthly rate of +3.9% over the last twelve months. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Japan ($8,634 per ton), while the average price for exports to Papua New Guinea ($2,235 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Japan (+16.4%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
