The average import price for sugar confectionery; (excluding chewing gum, including white chocolate), not containing cocoa stood at $1,867 per ton in 2022, falling by -25.8% against the previous year. Overall, the import price, however, saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2014 an increase of 36%. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $3,180 per ton. From 2015 to 2022, the average import prices failed to regain momentum.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Indonesia ($9,500 per ton), while the price for Pakistan ($751 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Indonesia (+14.7%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

In general, the export price continues to indicate buoyant growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2019 when the average export price increased by 51% against the previous year. The export price peaked in 2022 and is expected to retain growth in years to come.
Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Bangladesh ($9,816 per ton), while the average price for exports to Canada ($1,906 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to the United Arab Emirates (+15.1%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

As a result, the exports attained the peak of 87 tons, and then shrank in the following year.
In value terms, exports of sugar confectionery; (excluding chewing gum, including white chocolate), not containing cocoa expanded sharply to $499K in 2022. Over the period under review, exports, however, enjoyed a significant expansion. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 with an increase of 246%. The exports peaked in 2022 and are likely to continue growth in years to come.
