The average import price for sugars; fructose, chemically pure, in solid form stood at $1,921 per ton in August 2023, remaining relatively unchanged against the previous month. Overall, the import price, however, showed a pronounced setback. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in March 2023 an increase of 12% month-to-month. Over the period under review, average import prices reached the maximum at $2,604 per ton in January 2023; however, from February 2023 to August 2023, import prices failed to regain momentum.
Average prices varied somewhat amongst the major supplying countries. In August 2023, the highest price was recorded for prices from Israel ($2,156 per ton) and the Netherlands ($2,091 per ton), while the price for Bulgaria ($1,661 per ton) and Turkey ($1,794 per ton) were amongst the lowest.
From January 2023 to August 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Bulgaria (+5.5%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
