In 2022, the average export price for sugars; fructose, chemically pure, in solid form amounted to $1,180 per ton, surging by 54% against the previous year. In general, the export price, however, recorded a abrupt decline. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2016 when the average export price increased by 73%. As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $3,464 per ton. From 2017 to 2022, the average export prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major export markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Saudi Arabia ($1,455 per ton), while the average price for exports to Indonesia ($925 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Germany (+82.7%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2022, the average import price for sugars; fructose, chemically pure, in solid form amounted to $1,392 per ton, surging by 79% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price, however, recorded a mild shrinkage. The import price peaked at $2,231 per ton in 2016; however, from 2017 to 2022, import prices remained at a lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Israel ($4,287 per ton), while the price for China ($926 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Israel (+6.8%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced a decline.
Exports of Sugars; Fructose, Chemically Pure, in Solid Form in Ukraine
In 2022, overseas shipments of sugars; fructose, chemically pure, in solid form decreased by -67.8% to 3.8K tons for the first time since 2019, thus ending a two-year rising trend. Overall, exports, however, saw a significant expansion. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 when exports increased by 1,697% against the previous year. As a result, the exports reached the peak of 12K tons, and then shrank notably in the following year.
In value terms, exports of sugars; fructose, chemically pure, in solid form fell rapidly to $4.5M in 2022. In general, exports, however, saw significant growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when exports increased by 1,945% against the previous year. As a result, the exports reached the peak of $9M, and then reduced markedly in the following year.

For the third consecutive year, Ukraine recorded decline in purchases abroad of sugars; fructose, chemically pure, in solid form, which decreased by -24.2% to 754 tons in 2022. In general, imports saw a precipitous shrinkage. The smallest decline of -13.9% was in 2020.
In value terms, imports of sugars; fructose, chemically pure, in solid form skyrocketed to $1.2M in 2022. Overall, imports continue to indicate a deep setback.
