In 2022, the average import price for sulphites; other than of sodia amounted to $3,105 per ton, stabilizing at the previous year. Overall, the import price, however, saw a tangible increase. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2019 when the average import price increased by 40% against the previous year. The import price peaked at $3,141 per ton in 2021, and then declined modestly in the following year.
Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Germany ($6,961 per ton), while the price for France ($2,246 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Germany (+13.2%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

The average export price for sulphites; other than of sodia stood at $5,134 per ton in 2022, jumping by 61% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price, however, showed a mild decline. Over the period under review, the average export prices reached the maximum at $5,805 per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major overseas markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Poland ($5,753 per ton), while the average price for exports to Austria ($3,779 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Slovakia (+7.0%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
Imports of Sulphites; Other than of Sodium in the Czech Republic
In 2022, after two years of decline, there was significant growth in overseas purchases of sulphites; other than of sodia, when their volume increased by 71% to 123 tons. In general, imports, however, recorded a drastic downturn.
In value terms, sulphites; other than of sodium imports soared to $383K in 2022. Over the period under review, total imports indicated resilient growth from 2019 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +9.2% over the last three-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. As a result, imports attained the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

In 2022, the amount of sulphites; other than of sodia exported from the Czech Republic reduced dramatically to 29 tons, shrinking by -37.1% compared with 2021 figures. Over the period under review, exports recorded a mild shrinkage. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when exports increased by 56%. As a result, the exports attained the peak of 47 tons, and then shrank rapidly in the following year.
In value terms, sulphites; other than of sodium exports stood at $151K in 2022. Overall, exports, however, saw significant growth. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 with an increase of 70%. Over the period under review, the exports hit record highs in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in the near future.
