In 2022, the average import price for sulphonated, nitrated or nitrosated derivatives of hydrocarbons; whether or not halogenateds amounted to $2,012 per ton, with an increase of 23% against the previous year. Overall, import price indicated a modest increase from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +1.1% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, import price for sulphonated, nitrated or nitrosated derivatives of hydrocarbons; whether or not halogenateds increased by +45.0% against 2020 indices. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2016 when the average import price increased by 57% against the previous year. As a result, import price attained the peak level of $2,127 per ton. From 2017 to 2022, the average import prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was China ($3,973 per ton), while the price for the Czech Republic ($1,192 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

Over the period under review, the export price, however, saw a noticeable curtailment. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2013 an increase of 88% against the previous year. As a result, the export price reached the peak level of $3,012 per ton. From 2014 to 2022, the average export prices failed to regain momentum.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major foreign markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Russia ($2,636 per ton), while the average price for exports to Israel ($540 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Russia (+11.4%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Overall, total imports indicated a significant expansion from 2019 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +20.6% over the last three years. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 when imports increased by 42%. Imports peaked in 2022 and are likely to see gradual growth in years to come.

Over the period under review, the exports of hit record highs in 2022 and are likely to see gradual growth in the immediate term.
