Price for Sweet Biscuit, Waffle and Wafer in Malaysia (FOB) - 2021
The average export price for sweet biscuits, waffles and wafers stood at $3,169 per ton in December 2021, with a decrease of -1.5% against the previous month. In general, the export price, however, recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in October 2021 when the average export price increased by 5.7% m-o-m. As a result, the export price reached the peak level of $3,249 per ton; afterwards, it flattened through to December 2021.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major export markets. In December 2021, the country with the highest price was Singapore ($4,328 per ton), while the average price for exports to Iraq ($1,580 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From December 2020 to December 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Indonesia (+2.5%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

The average import price for sweet biscuits, waffles and wafers stood at $2,892 per ton in December 2021, growing by 5.6% against the previous month. Overall, the import price continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in September 2021 an increase of 10% against the previous month. Over the period under review, average import prices attained the peak figure in December 2021.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was Poland ($10,973 per ton), while the price for Bangladesh ($665 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From December 2020 to December 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by China (+2.5%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
