In August 2023, the average import price for swine; live, (other than pure-bred breeding animals), weighing 50kg or more amounted to $245 per unit, waning by -5.2% against the previous month. Over the last nine-month period, it increased at an average monthly rate of +3.4%. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in February 2023 an increase of 17% m-o-m. Over the period under review, average import prices attained the maximum at $264 per unit in June 2023; however, from July 2023 to August 2023, import prices remained at a lower figure.

Average prices varied noticeably amongst the major supplying countries. In August 2023, the highest price was recorded for prices from the Czech Republic ($278 per unit) and Croatia ($273 per unit), while the price for Germany ($227 per unit) and Slovakia ($260 per unit) were amongst the lowest.

From November 2022 to August 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Germany (+13.1%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

From July 2023 to September 2023, the the average export prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.
