The average tantalum; waste and scrap export price stood at $216,264 per ton in 2022, which is down by -5.3% against the previous year. In general, the export price saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2015 when the average export price increased by 14%. As a result, the export price reached the peak level of $248,976 per ton. From 2016 to 2022, the average export prices failed to regain momentum.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major foreign markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Germany ($341,232 per ton), while the average price for exports to Hong Kong SAR ($147,352 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Germany (+10.5%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced mixed trend patterns.
