In July 2023, the average tantalum; waste and scrap import price amounted to $165K per ton, dropping by -63.5% against the previous month. Overall, the import price continues to indicate a noticeable downturn. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in April 2023 when the average import price increased by 251% against the previous month. Over the period under review, average import prices hit record highs at $451K per ton in June 2023, and then contracted significantly in the following month.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was Kazakhstan ($1.1M per ton), while the price for the United States ($77,349 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From July 2022 to July 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Kazakhstan (+7.6%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced mixed trend patterns.
Imports of Tantalum; Waste and Scrap in Germany
