The average import price for tea, green; (not fermented), in immediate packings of a content exceeding 3kg stood at $1,922 per ton in December 2023, increasing by 4.2% against the previous month. In general, the import price, however, continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in May 2023 an increase of 31% against the previous month. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $2,451 per ton. From June 2023 to December 2023, the average import prices failed to regain momentum.

Average prices varied somewhat amongst the major supplying countries. In December 2023, the country with the highest price was Indonesia ($2,403 per ton), while the price for Vietnam ($1,878 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From December 2022 to December 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by China (+1.6%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced mixed trend patterns.
