The average import price for textile fabrics; impregnated, coated, covered or laminated with polyurethanes stood at $5.8 per square meter in February 2024, rising by 7.6% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the import price, however, showed a perceptible curtailment. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in September 2023 an increase of 37% against the previous month. Over the period under review, average import prices hit record highs at $9.2 per square meter in April 2023; however, from May 2023 to February 2024, import prices failed to regain momentum.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In February 2024, the country with the highest price was Japan ($25.7 per square meter), while the price for China ($2.3 per square meter) was amongst the lowest.
From February 2023 to February 2024, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Morocco (+6.5%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

The average export price for textile fabrics; impregnated, coated, covered or laminated with polyurethanes stood at $4.3 per square meter in February 2024, picking up by 6.2% against the previous month. In general, the export price, however, recorded a slight curtailment. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in June 2023 when the average export price increased by 15% month-to-month. Over the period under review, the average export prices reached the maximum at $5.6 per square meter in August 2023; however, from September 2023 to February 2024, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination: the country with the highest price was Poland ($8.4 per square meter), while the average price for exports to Tunisia ($1.9 per square meter) was amongst the lowest.
From February 2023 to February 2024, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Poland (+7.3%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
Imports of Textile Fabrics; Impregnated, Coated, Covered or Laminated with Polyurethane in Portugal
Imports of textile fabrics; impregnated, coated, covered or laminated with polyurethanes into Portugal fell to 5.8M square meters in 2022, which is down by -5.7% against the previous year. In general, imports recorded a drastic downturn. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 with an increase of less than 0.1%. Imports peaked at 8.1M square meters in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2022, imports remained at a lower figure.
In value terms, imports of textile fabrics; impregnated, coated, covered or laminated with polyurethanes expanded markedly to $31M in 2022. Overall, imports saw a relatively flat trend pattern. Over the period under review, imports of hit record highs at $32M in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2022, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.
