In February 2024, the average export price for textile fabrics; impregnated, coated, covered or laminated with polyvinyl chlorides amounted to $6.5 per square meter, rising by 11% against the previous month. In general, the export price showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in April 2023 when the average export price increased by 21% m-o-m. As a result, the export price reached the peak level of $7.3 per square meter. From May 2023 to February 2024, the the average export prices failed to regain momentum.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major foreign markets. In February 2024, the country with the highest price was North Macedonia ($9.4 per square meter), while the average price for exports to Belgium ($3.3 per square meter) was amongst the lowest.
From February 2023 to February 2024, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Turkey (+2.8%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

The average import price for textile fabrics; impregnated, coated, covered or laminated with polyvinyl chlorides stood at $4.2 per square meter in February 2024, dropping by -1.9% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the import price continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in July 2023 when the average import price increased by 71% month-to-month. The import price peaked at $6.4 per square meter in September 2023; however, from October 2023 to February 2024, import prices failed to regain momentum.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was Spain ($6.9 per square meter), while the price for China ($1.7 per square meter) was amongst the lowest.
From February 2023 to February 2024, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Germany (+1.9%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
Exports of Textile Fabrics; Impregnated, Coated, Covered or Laminated with Polyvinyl Chloride in Portugal
For the third year in a row, Portugal recorded decline in overseas shipments of textile fabrics; impregnated, coated, covered or laminated with polyvinyl chlorides, which decreased by -7.1% to 24M square meters in 2022. Overall, exports continue to indicate a sharp curtailment. Over the period under review, the exports of hit record highs at 58M square meters in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2022, the exports failed to regain momentum.
In value terms, exports of textile fabrics; impregnated, coated, covered or laminated with polyvinyl chlorides declined to $126M in 2022. In general, exports, however, showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 with an increase of 16% against the previous year. As a result, the exports reached the peak of $139M, and then declined in the following year.
