The average tin; waste and scrap import price stood at $13,758 per ton in 2022, rising by 5.3% against the previous year. In general, the import price, however, recorded a noticeable curtailment. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 an increase of 83% against the previous year. Over the period under review, average import prices hit record highs at $44,747 per ton in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2022, import prices failed to regain momentum.

As there is only one major supplying country, the average price level is determined by prices for Portugal.

From 2012 to 2022, the rate of growth in terms of prices for Portugal amounted to -3.5% per year.

Imports of Tin; Waste and Scrap in Angola

In 2022, after three years of growth, there was decline in supplies from abroad of tin; waste and scraps, when their volume decreased by -4.6% to 2.7 tons. Over the period under review, imports, however, recorded a significant increase. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 when imports increased by 454% against the previous year. As a result, imports attained the peak of 2.8 tons, and then fell slightly in the following year.

In value terms, tin; waste and scrap imports stood at $37K in 2022. Overall, imports, however, continue to indicate a significant increase. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 when imports increased by 142% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs in 2022 and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
