The average tin; waste and scrap export price stood at $395 per ton in 2022, increasing by 4.8% against the previous year. Overall, the export price, however, showed a slight shrinkage. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2017 when the average export price increased by 35%. The export price peaked at $463 per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Average prices varied somewhat for the major foreign markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Sri Lanka ($450 per ton), while the average price for exports to China ($310 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Vietnam (+8.9%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced a decline.

The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 with an increase of 106%. As a result, the exports reached the peak of $903K, and then contracted slightly in the following year.
