The average tin; waste and scrap export price stood at $20,735 per ton in 2022, surging by 238% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price enjoyed a buoyant expansion. Over the period under review, the average export prices attained the maximum at $21,821 per ton in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2022, the export prices remained at a lower figure.

Average prices varied somewhat for the major export markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Switzerland ($27,500 per ton), while the average price for exports to Germany amounted to $20,160 per ton.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Germany (+9.8%).

In 2022, overseas shipments of tin; waste and scraps decreased by -68.7% to 102 kg for the first time since 2019, thus ending a two-year rising trend. In general, exports, however, recorded significant growth. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 when exports increased by 10,767% against the previous year. As a result, the exports reached the peak of 326 kg, and then fell markedly in the following year.

In value terms, tin; waste and scrap exports expanded notably to $2.1K in 2022. Overall, exports, however, enjoyed a significant expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 with an increase of 19,900%. The exports peaked in 2022 and are likely to see steady growth in the near future.
