In April 2024, the average export price for titanium; articles thereof, including waste and scrap amounted to $13,545 per ton, remaining relatively unchanged against the previous month. Over the period under review, the export price, however, continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in March 2024 when the average export price increased by 5.5% against the previous month. The export price peaked at $14,145 per ton in January 2024; however, from February 2024 to April 2024, the export prices failed to regain momentum.

There were significant differences in the average prices for the major export markets. In April 2024, the country with the highest price was China ($30,597 per ton), while the average price for exports to India ($3,681 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From May 2023 to April 2024, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Germany (+3.4%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Over the period from May 2023 to April 2024, it increased at an average monthly rate of +1.8%. The growth pace was the most rapid in September 2023 an increase of 32% m-o-m. As a result, import price attained the peak level of $53,860 per ton. From October 2023 to April 2024, the average import prices failed to regain momentum.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In April 2024, the country with the highest price was the United States ($127K per ton), while the price for Taiwan (Chinese) ($7,927 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From May 2023 to April 2024, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by South Korea (+23.6%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2022, approx. 50K tons of titanium; articles thereof, including waste and scrap were exported from Japan; growing by 18% compared with the previous year's figure. In general, exports, however, saw a perceptible setback. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when exports increased by 22% against the previous year.

In value terms, exports of titanium; articles thereof, including waste and scrap surged to $655M in 2022. Overall, exports continue to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. As a result, the exports reached the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
