Price for Tobacco; "Homogenised" or "Reconstituted" in Russia (CIF) - 2022
The average tobacco; "homogenised" or "reconstituted" import price stood at $8,984 per ton in January 2022, growing by 53% against the previous month. In general, the import price continues to indicate a mild increase. The growth pace was the most rapid in July 2021 an increase of 122% against the previous month. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $13,202 per ton. From August 2021 to January 2022, the average import prices failed to regain momentum.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In January 2022, the country with the highest price was France ($12,233 per ton), while the price for Serbia ($2,347 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From January 2021 to January 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by South Korea (+2.1%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

In January 2022, the average tobacco; "homogenised" or "reconstituted" export price amounted to $2,057 per ton, with an increase of 5.5% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the export price, however, recorded a mild decline. The growth pace was the most rapid in September 2021 when the average export price increased by 21% m-o-m. As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $2,843 per ton. From October 2021 to January 2022, the the average export prices failed to regain momentum.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major external markets. In January 2022, the country with the highest price was Kazakhstan ($2,819 per ton), while the average price for exports to Jordan ($1,677 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From January 2021 to January 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Germany (+2.0%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
Imports of Tobacco; "Homogenised" or "Reconstituted" in Russia
Tobacco; "homogenised" or "reconstituted" imports into Russia skyrocketed to 7.8K tons in 2022, picking up by 32% compared with 2021. Over the period under review, imports showed significant growth. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2020 when imports increased by 119% against the previous year. As a result, imports reached the peak of 8.7K tons. From 2021 to 2022, the growth of imports failed to regain momentum.
In value terms, tobacco; "homogenised" or "reconstituted" imports skyrocketed to $58M in 2022. In general, total imports indicated a prominent expansion from 2019 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +13.3% over the last three-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports decreased by -17.8% against 2020 indices. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2020 when imports increased by 77% against the previous year. As a result, imports attained the peak of $71M. From 2021 to 2022, the growth of imports remained at a somewhat lower figure.
